Polylatic Acid Fiber
Starch is extracted from crops such as corn, sweet potato and sorghum. And then turns into glucose with amylase. We can also get glucose through physical and chemical methods from cellulose and hemicellulose, which is extracted from straw.
Then glucose will be fermented to lactic, and lactic is concentrated to lactide, which will be turned into polylactic acid through polymerization, and finally polylactic acid will be turned into polylactic acid fiber through melt spinning process.
Based on recycle material, the above technology brings degradable fibers into being. Thus corn and other crops can produce lactic, and then to lactide and finally to polylactic acid fibers.
